THE BRIEF
A Festive Celebration With Something More to Say
The brief was not for another restaurant booking.
The team wanted an intimate festive event that gave colleagues a reason to interact, collaborate and enjoy time together away from the everyday working environment.
Privacy mattered. Character mattered. And the experience needed enough personality to make a 14-person celebration feel genuinely special.
The Client Needed
Central London Location
A distinctive private London venue
Capacity for 14 guests
An intimate setting for 14 colleagues
Festivities With a Team-Building Outcome
Space for a collaborative activity that brought colleagues together before lunch.
A Celebration Unlike the Usual
An alternative to a traditional corporate Christmas lunch, combining activity, dining and time together.
WHAT RUMA DELIVERED
Bringing Venue, Activity and Festive Dining Together
RUMA Events managed the venue search around the full experience rather than treating each element separately.
The focus was on finding a private London setting that could accommodate the team-building activity and festive meal in one place, then coordinating the suppliers and timings so the event flowed naturally from one part of the celebration to the next.
1
Venue Research

2
Brief-Led Shortlisting

3
Supplier Sourcing
Arranging the collaborative Masterpiece Challenge with specialist team-building provider Wildfire Agency and incorporating it into the wider programme.
4
Event Coordination
Organising the festive lunch, coordinating timings between the venue and activity provider, and providing RUMA support on site during the event.
THE EVENT
One Team. One Canvas. One Shared Result.
Held on 10 December 2025, the celebration brought 14 colleagues together for an afternoon of creative team building, festive dining and time away from the usual working environment.
The centrepiece was the Masterpiece Challenge.
Guests were divided into smaller teams and each group was responsible for painting a different section of a larger piece of artwork inspired by the organisation's branding.
Only once each section was complete were the individual pieces brought together to reveal the final collaborative artwork.
The challenge introduced communication, creativity and teamwork without turning the celebration into a heavily structured corporate exercise.
Once the activity was complete, the group moved into a festive lunch within the same private venue, allowing the event to shift naturally from collaboration into celebration.
The Boathouse, Paddington
The Boathouse in Paddington provided a refreshing alternative to a conventional restaurant or private dining room.
Its waterfront location, contemporary interiors and intimate scale gave the celebration plenty of character while still keeping the team within central London.
Crucially, the venue allowed the full experience to happen in one place.
There was space for the creative challenge, time for colleagues to socialise and a private setting for the festive lunch, avoiding the disruption of moving the group elsewhere part-way through the event.
The combination of privacy, personality and convenience made The Boathouse particularly well suited to the brief.
